UK members of the consortium travelled to Maharajganj District in northern Uttar Pradesh to meet with fish farmers and learn their perspectives of fish farming, of the income derived from farming, and the challenges they face from fish diseases, including EUS.

The team travelled overnight by train from Lucknow City to Maharajganj and stayed in the district for 3 days before returning to Lucknow to compile their findings. Return work is planned when retrospective epidemiological surveys through farmer questionnaires will be carried out and socioeconomic surveys and photo diaries will be conducted.
